What is xCurrent (XRP)?

xCurrent can be seen as a half-way house product and allows institutions to use the Ripple protocol but still use liquidity banks within the system. Ripple Labs objective is to use XRP within the protocol to provide on-demand liquidity. Think of it as xCurrent without the liquidity providers.
